02/16/2023 City Day and Ginger Farm Restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Morgan, Joseph, and I met our friend Catherine for an enjoyable breakfast at Rosemary cafe. Afterwards, I returned to Maya mall to get a workout in at the gym and then stop by the post office. I shipped one box of some clothes and gifts back home to San Diego and another box with cold gear I’ve been carrying since snowboarding Japan (mittens, snow pants, beanie, base layers) to the trekking office in Nepal. For the steep global shipping price of 3,000baht together (~$93USD), I greatly minimized my belongings to carry for the rest of Asia. When traveling, it’s best to pack as light as possible, but mailing items back home can be a pricy but worthwhile option as well.

Later, Catherine came over to our Air BnB where we played two really fun board games: Wingspan and Catan. The four of us went to dinner at Ginger Farm, a Michelin starred upscale and high-end authentic Thai food restaurant. This was my first time eating where a Michelin star has been awarded, and the food was absolutely amazing. I can now see what the hype behind the star is about. We ordered at least 7 different plates to share family style, delectable cocktails, and 4 unique desserts. Best part of all, the entire meal including everything aforementioned was equivalent to about $70USD. Ginger Farm is a must for any Chiang Mai visitors.
